Going into the preseason, Sage Rosenfels was the number two quarterback for the Vikings, behind Tarvaris Jackson.
But after Brett Favre’s return and rookie Joe Webb’s sensational play during the preseason and somebody had to be the odd man out and apparently that was Sage Rosenfels.
Rosenfels and running back Darius Reynaud were traded to the New York Giants for undisclosed draft picks. According to the Vikings’ website, they will receive a pick in next year’s draft, as well as, a conditional pick in 2012.
Rosenfels will apparently fill-in for injured backup quarterback Jim Sorgi, who was placed on the injured reserve after injuring his shoulder.
